In Fall 2025, ISA brought the house down with SANGAM, our annual cultural night, hosted at the SSA Auditorium right here at UTD. The highlight of the evening? A live stand-up performance by the incredibly talented Biswa Kalyan Rath, and it was nothing short of spectacular.
The auditorium was packed to capacity, and the energy in the room was electric from start to finish. Seeing our community come together for a night of culture, laughter, and connection was exactly what SANGAM is all about and this one was truly unforgettable.
Here’s to many more nights like this. SANGAM lives on.
The Indian Students Association (ISA) is a non-profit socio-cultural association within the Student Organization's Forum at The University of Texas at Dallas, which is home to thousands of Indian students.
ISA represents every one of them and strives to make each student feel at home. Even thousands of miles from India, ISA draws colorful Indian culture through its various programs throughout the calendar year.
Indian Students Association represents more than 2,500 Indian students enrolled at UTD. The association strives to guide and help these students with airport pickups, housing, and other basic amenities.

The ISA Incoming Student Handbook brings together practical guidance on packing, airport pickup, housing, your first week, health insurance, academics, university services, important links, and FAQs. Instead of placing all 43 pages on the homepage, we've created a dedicated handbook experience so you can explore the guide without making the main ISA website feel overwhelming.
Dr. Gaurav Shekhar serves as Faculty Advisor to the Indian Students Association at The University of Texas at Dallas. He is the Associate Dean for Administration, Student Success, and Alumni Relations at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, where he is also an Associate Professor of Instruction in Information Systems and Program Director of the MS in Business Analytics.
A proud UT Dallas alumnus (MS'16, MS'23, PhD'24), Dr. Shekhar has been part of the UTD community for nearly a decade and a steadfast supporter of ISA throughout. His guidance and mentorship have been instrumental in helping the organization grow into the community it is today. We are proud and grateful to have him in our corner, year after year, as part of the ISA family.
